The BID will run high visibility marketing and promotional campaigns to raise the local, regional and national profile of Southend – pushing more economic capital into the BID zone in the shape of new businesses, property development, visitors, employees and students.
What the BID will deliver
A mobile responsive website promoting businesses within the BID zone and those who are a Friend of the BID, as well as providing and updating visitors with information on events and promotions.
In April, the organic search traffic to the website surpassed 38,000 (an increase of almost 2000% year-on-year for the previous site) and there were just under 50,000 unique visitors.
Businesses can promote their exclusive offers, promotions and events easily and for free via Visit Southend’s VIP Offer section. This site is now fully mobile responsive.
Campaigns across the full breadth of media channels – including radio, PR, social media and local press – will promote the BID zone as an attractive place to visit.
A host of existing annual events including the Christmas Lights Switch On, Seafront Fireworks and Italian Festival, as well as brand new additions of the Southend Festival of Wheels, Southend Food Fest and Coca-Cola Truck visit.
Maps & Signage
Investment in additional maps, including Southend Town Map and Visit Southend branded signage will enhance the visitor experience in Southend.
