From Friday 22nd October – Sunday 31st October 2021 Southend BID are set to host their third annual Southend Cocktail Week, showcasing Southend venues who will create a range of delicious cocktails and mocktails whilst hosting unmissable events. This will be a celebration of Southend’s night-time economy, supporting local business within the nightlife industry.
Southend Cocktail Week has proven to be a tremendously popular event over recent years and Southend BID are delighted to bring it back this autumn; it is an invaluable opportunity to support the town’s night-time economy and the businesses within this sector who have been hugely impacted by Coronavirus restrictions for over a year.
Meanwhile, Southend Cocktail Week allows local residents and visitors alike to explore new venues within the town, whilst the event celebrates Southend’s prestigious Purple Flag status.
Drinks on offer throughout Southend Cocktail Week in previous years have included a ‘Bubblegum Mojito’, ‘Alas Poor Yorick’ (a coconut rum-based drink) and a ‘White Chocolate Russian’; each and every creation highlights Southend’s wide range of cocktail venues, alongside their workers’ exceptional bartending abilities.
Discussing their excitement to hold another much-anticipated Southend Cocktail Week, Southend BID Manager, Suzanne Gloyne, says:
“In previous years we have been blown away by the response to Southend Cocktail Week; it’s quickly become an unmissable event that attracts invaluable footfall for nearby businesses. Since the pandemic, this has become more important than ever before… our night-time economy has been under immense pressure and any efforts to support local businesses’ post-pandemic recovery are greatly appreciated. By promoting local venues’ delicious drinks and supporting events that celebrate their offerings, we’re helping to propel Southend and position our town as a safe, supportive and creative nightlife destination as restrictions have now eased.”
