Southend City Council installed a series of bollards to control access to the High Street following a safety audit. To implement the scheme fully, rising bollards need to go through a consultation process which is launching today. The information can be found in the attached document below.

There were bollards operating in the High Street several years ago and the proposal is to run as previously with 48 hours notice required for access. It should be noted that cash collections are unaffected. There are no plans to introduce a charge which we will be pressing confirmation of with SCC on behalf of BID levy payers.

The BID safety advisory committee meets next week so if you have any issues you would like us to raise with the council on your behalf relating to this please email scott@southendbid.com . Details to make your own responses to the consultation process are found in the document.
