Hospitality Pavement Licenses

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are allowing hospitality venues that would like to use the pavement areas outside of their business to do so for free from Monday 12th April to Sunday 16th May.


They will be waiving the need for a license application for this period on the condition that that the area in question complies to the terms and conditions of the pavement licensing policy and COVID-19 regulations. No area may be used beyond 10pm (predominantly 9pm in residential areas).


For dates from Monday 17th May onwards businesses will be required to submit a full license application to continue using the space. The fee for this is £100.


Any area used will still be subject to any licensing and planning conditions such as terminal hours, capacity, etc.
